Patricia Pointer

The Old Settlers Reunion Association Scholarship for 2014 has been awarded to Patricia Pointer. Patricia is a 2013 graduate of Chippewa Hills High school. She is currently a student at Michigan State University.

I would like to give a special thanks to the OSRA Scholarship Committee for awarding me with this wonderful opportunity. 

 

Dear Readers,

I would like to thank all of the Old Settlers for awarding me with the opportunity to follow my dreams. After attending a university far away from home, I can actually say that I completely understand the struggle and stress that comes with having to pay for my education. Being on my own and creating my own budget was overwhelming for me. With that being said, the OSRA should have no doubt that their financial assistance will be put to good use and I will work hard to ensure that. On another note, I want to say how proud I am to actually say that my own family has created this organization and it is successful enough to be able to provide a scholarship for their fellow scholars. This organization in itself is a prime example of the importance of family and the reunion and everyone who is apart of it is something that I hold dear to my heart.
